This rare Rolex wristwatch is a beautiful example of the Oyster Royal, produced around 1957. Its main features include the manual winding caliber, a 31mm case, the grené dial with original radium, and the “Shock Resisting” inscription—a true gem of vintage watchmaking.
The condition of the watch is very good. The dial is original, not refinished, and shows no significant signs of wear. There is a slight ochre spotting on the dial caused by the luminescent material (radium), which has lightly stained the surface over the years. The luminescent material on the hands is also radium and original. No restoration work has been done on the dial or hands. The case may have been lightly polished in the past, but nothing that detracts from the watch’s collectible value. The movement has just been serviced and works perfectly.
All components are original and correct for the year of production, except for the crown, which was replaced during a service over the years.
