The Rolex Sea-Dweller reference 16660 was the first Sea-Dweller to feature a sapphire crystal. In addition to the crystal, this new reference introduced several innovations, such as an updated helium escape valve, the COSC-certified caliber 3035, and a bracelet equipped with SEL (Solid End Links). The most sought-after examples of the 16660 are the early versions, characterized by the matt dial, like this beautiful piece complete with its original warranty.
The condition of this 16660 is very good. The dial has developed a beautiful, uniform patina with no significant flaws, apart from some very minor and faint humidity marks that are difficult to capture even in high-definition photography and are visible only under a 10x loupe with light. The hands and the luminous dot have been professionally relumed with original tritium due to their previous poor condition. Despite the restoration, they respond correctly and uniformly to the dial when exposed to UV light. Although the case was lightly polished years ago, it remains in excellent condition, retaining its original bevels. The bracelet is tight, and the movement runs perfectly, having been serviced by the previous owner two years ago.
All components are original and correct for the year of production: Matt dial, bezel with serif fonts, Triple Lock crown, 16660 Patented case back, caliber 3035, and bracelet 93160/592/G.
The original warranty is included.
