A highly striking vintage Vacheron Constantin, produced around the 1950s, featuring an 18k yellow gold case with truly modern proportions. Its clean design and understated lines make it a watch that could easily be displayed today in the window of a contemporary Vacheron Constantin authorised retailer.
The oversized case, remarkable for the period, wears generously and offers a strong wrist presence without feeling excessive. One particularly interesting detail is that the last three digits of the caseback number are also stamped on the caseband, a production feature often seen on high-quality vintage references.
The dial is elegant and minimalist, with baton hour markers and slim hands, giving it excellent legibility and a very contemporary look, while still preserving its true vintage identity. Overall condition is excellent: the case remains full and well preserved, with clearly visible hallmarks, and the dial is beautifully maintained.
The movement has just been serviced and is running perfectly. The watch is fully correct and original: caseback, an indelible guilloché dial, movement (calibre P454/5B with small seconds at 6 o’clock), and a Vacheron Constantin signed buckle. Crown was most likely changed in a service.
A rare and highly charming vintage Vacheron Constantin, combining oversized proportions, pure design, and outstanding build quality — truly beautiful on the wrist.
