What you need to know about this watch

The Rolex Sea-Dweller reference 1665 “Double Red” is one of the most iconic watches in the vintage Rolex lineup, a timepiece of unique charm that every collector of vintage sports watches aspires to own.

This example is particularly special, not only for its outstanding preservation but also because it comes with its full original set, something extremely rare for this model.

Included are: trapezoid-shaped box, Rolex Submariner booklet with 1976 calendar, document holder, translation booklet, original warranty from a Venezuelan retailer (country code 770 embossed), official Rolex service from 2016, and customs paperwork from the Rolex Geneva Service Center to France.
An exceptional set — throughout my career, I have seen very few Double Red 1665s documented as completely as this one.

The overall condition is excellent: the case remains thick and well-defined, the bracelet is tight and not stretched, and both the caseback and crown screw down perfectly. The dial and hands are flawless, with no defects, while the bezel and insert are also in excellent condition.

Beyond its superb state of preservation, the watch is entirely original and period-correct in all its key components: MK4 “Double Red Sea-Dweller” dial correct for the serial number, original 1970s insert, caliber 1570, caseback with horizontal “Rolex” engraving and full matching serial, and 93150 bracelet with 585 end links and VB clasp code, all consistent and original.

The only replaced parts are the crown and tube, a common service replacement on these watches.

The completeness of the set, the official Rolex service, and its outstanding overall condition make this 1665 a truly exceptional collector’s piece — one of the finest Double Red Sea-Dwellers known.

My watches are carefully selected and guaranteed for life as original through the ANDREA PICCININI Guarantee. This exclusive certificate of authenticity also includes a QR code with all the high-definition photos of your watch.
