The Tudor reference 94200 belongs to the Big Block family, the first automatic chronographs ever produced by Tudor. It is part of the first generation of Big Block models (including references 94300 and 94400, which differ mainly by bezel type) and came after the Montecarlo chronographs with Valjoux 234 movements (refs. 7149, 7159, 7169), themselves successors to the early Homeplate series (refs. 7031, 7032, 7033).
The 94200 therefore represents one of the earliest Tudor chronographs powered by the automatic Valjoux 7750, featuring the thicker case that gave rise to the Big Block nickname.
Among these, the so-called “Halloween” dial is undoubtedly one of the rarest and most desirable variations, known only in a handful of examples. The nickname “Halloween” refers to its striking orange and black color scheme, reminiscent of the October 31st celebration.
This particular watch is in excellent condition: the case, bracelet, and bezel are all exceptionally well preserved, with no major marks or dents. The movement has been recently serviced by my trusted watchmaker.
In addition to its superb preservation, the watch is completely original and period-correct in all key components: acrylic bezel, P302 pushers, tritium “Halloween” dial, Valjoux 7750 movement, 78360 bracelet with 589 end links, and caseback signed 94200.
The only replaced parts are the crown and tube.
A beautiful, rare, and highly charismatic watch – a true collector’s piece for vintage chronograph enthusiasts.
