Rolex Daytona 16520 Full Set

What you need to know about this watch

Introduced in 1988, the Rolex Daytona reference 16520 is considered by many Rolex enthusiasts to be one of the most successful watches in history. Upon its release, it immediately became a must-have for brand collectors, and much like today’s modern reference 116500LN, the waiting times at official retailers were extremely long. Many were willing to pay a premium to acquire one immediately. With a completely revamped design compared to the previous Daytona references 6263 and 6265, and featuring innovative technical specifications such as the Zenith-based automatic caliber 4030, the reference 16520 is undoubtedly one of Rolex’s most well-executed and sought-after models. The most desirable examples are those that have survived to this day with their original set, in excellent condition, and with all period-correct components—just like this piece.

This Rolex Daytona ref. 16520 is an outstanding example, meticulously preserved over the years with the utmost care and attention. All components are original and period-correct for the year of production: Mk4 dial with non-serif “Daytona” text, Mk3 bezel, caliber 4030 no. 39,XXX, satin-finished bracelet 78360/503/N9, and case back 16500. In addition to being original and period-correct, all components are also in excellent condition. The dial is flawless, free of any scratches; the bracelet is tight; and the bezel and case are perfectly preserved. The watch comes complete with its original box with sticker, tag, warranty, and booklets—an exceptional piece for those seeking a 16520 in truly top condition.
